I am supposed to be attending 2 weeks of logic summer school. It is important to underline, italicize, and bold the word 'supposed'. In the last year and half I have read lots of theories on my own, understood them to whatever extent on my own. And this summer school was a chance for me to correct my own understanding. And it has gone quiet well. But then in this last two weeks I have experienced a sudden explosion of creativity in myself. Many of my friends know that I write stories, or at least I used to write them. I had hit a block and not able to proceed with any concrete story for long.
I have had 5 new ideas in the last two weeks. All thanks to these lecturers from different countries trying to explain ideas of Mu-Calculus and Artificial Planners... I hear them talking and then I hear my head talking. Describing a new story to me, and helping me fill in the blanks in the story during the next 1 hr. It is amazing. The funniest part is, I will be sitting with my note and pen ready to jot down some points in the lecture, listening intently. I will find that there is nothing to take down. After about an hour of no writing at all, suddenly i start scribbling a whole pageful or more details. If only anyone tried to get a good look at what i am writing!! I am sure even the lecturers will be amazed at this sincere student...
PS: I have had nearly 11 visits to my blog in the last three days... Thanks to my readers... You can drop some comments on how to improve my blog... I would be glad to make the necessary changes.

playing
After I finished my bachelors, I haven't been physically active. In IIT we were introduced to the wonderful world of internet and LAN networks. Till then I had watched around 50 hollywood movies in all my life. But in the two years in IIT, I would have watched more than 200 movies easily. And that clearly broke all my love for playing games. I stopped playing.
But things did change in the second year, there was a TT board in our hostel and we started playing every evening for an hour. And then I came to sydney. The first year in sydney was worse again. Stopped playing all kinds of games, no physical workout.
I have revamped my schedule now. I have been regularly jogging for nearly 3.5 kms every weekday morning for the last 4 months. I walk 20kms every week. And add to that, I recently bought a TT board and we play there atleast once a week. But the highpoint is the last two days. I played 2 hrs TT last night against a Chinese guy. And I wasn't that bad. We were on a top-spin battle. He was giving me vicious spinners with a lot of bounce and I was giving them back to him. It was nice fun. And today I played badminton after 4 yrs, and I have still got it... I still suck at it...

Science or Magic?
I am now in Canberra for The Logic Summer School in ANU. My friends and I went for a bushwalk the other day to Tidbinbilla natural reserve. It was a very beautiful place. But this blog is not about the beauty of the place, rather it is about the magic that occured in which I took part.
One of the friends was saying how four people could life any person effortlessly in that particular method. And amidst a doubter, me, he set on to prove it. We chose the heaviest person in our group. There were 5 males in the group and the heaviest was to be lifted by the rest. Now this person sat on a rock and we held our hands together in the 'i am going to shoot you position', (i.e, we made a gun in our hands, which is basically hold the two fists together with extending the first two fingers out and folding the last two fingers). And the four guns were placed under the two arm-pits and the two knees. We tried to lift him in this way.. It was not possible for us and we did not even move him an inch.
Next we put our open palms (palms facing the person's, to be lifted, head) in the following order. The 1st lifter would put his right palm out above the head of the person to be lifted and then the second lifter followed with his right palm above the already placed palm without touching it. Followed by the 3rd and the 4th lifter.. Then the first lifter puts his left palm about the last palm and the sequence continues to the 4th lifter... None of the palms are touching each other or the head. This is all done in complete silence. The hands are held for half a minute and then the palms are removed in the reverse order starting from the left palm of the 4th lifter to the right palm of the 1st lifter...
Now the lifters again form the gun and try to lift the person, still without talking. And, would you believe it, the person felt like a feather...
I am not sure what is the science behind it.. We took turns lifting the others and trying to figure out how it is possible... but to no avail...
If you have an answer.. you know you can post it here...
